Selecting an ESP
|
|
|
Welcome to Talking Email, the first in our new series of 'bite-sized' issues of Email-Worx.
This week, Dela discusses the key requirements you should consider when selecting an ESP.
Appointing an email service provider (ESP) is one of the most important decisions about
email marketing you ever have to make. With around 20 top tier ESP's and over 250 small
to medium providers to choose from, making the right decision can be a daunting task.
There's no single right answer. ESP's differ from each other in many ways, which makes
it difficult to draw comparisons. Your ESP should be an integral part of your marketing
initiatives - if it doesn't fit your needs as well as anticipated, the impact on your
marketing plans will be felt for a very long time. With so much at stake, you really
can't afford to get it wrong.
Based on years of experience with most of the leading ESPs, Dela shares the key requirements
every organization should include in their RFP and details how to rate the responses.
At Alchemy Worx we're platform-agnostic, and work with most major email vendors, so we're
well placed to give an impartial answer.
